Secretariat

The Business Council of PNG currently has three (3) full time staff. Mrs. Carmella Gabina, the Executive Director, Mrs. Fiona Diaka, Admin Support Officer. They manage and attend all activities that require the engagement of the Council with special direction from the Board. The Secretariat is located in Gordons, Port Moresby, National Capital District on the second floor of the CHM Corporate Park Building. It’s approximately 10 minutes drive from the international and domestic airport.

CARMELLA GABINA

Carmella Gabina is the Executive Director of the Business Council of Papua New Guinea (BCPNG), a role she has held since May 2022. In this capacity, she leads the Council’s strategic engagement with government, advocating for business-friendly policies and a stable regulatory environment. She recently played a key role in establishing the Government-to-Business (G2B) Consultative Forum, a platform that strengthens dialogue between the public and private sectors.

Carmella has extensive experience in the service industry, both in Papua New Guinea and Australia, spanning roles in retail, corporate services, and financial operations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management and is currently completing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at the School of Business, University of Papua New Guinea. She has held a board role in the Papua New Guinea Tourism Industry Association (PNGTIA) since 2013.

FIONA DIAKA

Fiona Diaka is the Administration and Finance Officer at the Business Council of Papua New Guinea (BCPNG), a position she has held for over nine years. Her role is part of a co-shared arrangement with the Manufacturers Council of Papua New Guinea (MCPNG), reflecting her integral contribution across two of the country’s most prominent industry organizations.

Fiona holds a Diploma in Business Management from Port Moresby Business College and has pursued further studies at the International Training Institute. With over 17 years of experience in administration, she brings extensive expertise in office management, financial oversight, and executive support.

MARY MISTIL JERRY

Mary Mistil Jerry is currently the Government to Business (G2B) Liaison Officer at the Business Council of Papua New Guinea. In her role, she supports, coordinates, and facilitates all Government to Business engagements, working closely with both public and private sector stakeholders. Her responsibilities include the coordination of Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings and assisting the Executive Director in delivering high-level engagements such as Taskforce meetings and Government to Business Consultative Forums, fostering effective cross-sector collaboration.
Mary Mistil holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Papua New Guinea, Majoring in Information and Communication Science and Minoring in Psychology.
