Praivet Gavamani Konekt (2026)
The Business Council of Papua New Guinea (BCPNG) launched the ‘Praivet Gavamani Konekt (PGK) process in 2021 to bridge the private sector and government, focusing on economic growth during the pandemic. Under the theme “The New Normal: Rescue, Recover, Rebuild,” the PGK process facilitates discussions on partnerships for economic development.

In 2022, the Business Council of PNG (BCPNG) enacted the Government to Business (G2B) 2022-2027 Plan. Focus on addressing 4 key pillars: Meritocracy, Digital Government, Deregulation and Geopolitics through its Private Gavamani Konekt Dialogues and Engagements.
This year’s Chief Justice Business Breakfast will focus on Financial Crime, AML & Economic Integrity; AI, Digital Evidence & the Future of Justice; Land, Green Economy & Environmental Justice; Judicial Reform, Security & Investor Confidence; and Arbitration, Mediation & Alternative Dispute Resolution. The event will emphasize the importance of partnerships, collaboration, and dialogue in strengthening the rule of law, enhancing economic integrity, promoting sustainable development, and building investor confidence in Papua New Guinea. These discussions will highlight the need for coordinated efforts between the judiciary, government, private sector, and civil society to address emerging legal, technological, environmental, and governance challenges, while ensuring efficient justice systems, transparent regulatory frameworks, and a secure environment for economic growth and investment.
This year in particular we have partnered with UNDP through the EU-funded Preventing and Countering Corruption in Papua New Guinea Project (PNG Anti-Corruption Project), implemented by UNDP and UNODC. UNDP through the PNG Anti-Corruption Project, works with the PNG Government, civil society, and the private sector to strengthen national anti-corruption systems and promote integrity. A key focus is on enhancing business integrity by supporting ethical practices, improving compliance frameworks, and reducing corruption risks in areas like procurement and governance. As part of this effort, UNDP will partner with
BCPNG to host the policy dialogue (PGK3) to advance collaboration and strengthen anticorruption measures across PNG’s public and private sectors

To kick off Business Council PNG’s 2026 Praivat Gavamani Konekt (PGK) series, the Department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council, in collaboration with the Business Council PNG, is pleased to host the 2026 Outlook under the theme Harmonized Economy – Aligning Partnerships, Investments, and National Priorities for Shared Prosperity. PGK 1 will be convened following the 16th Prime Minister’s Back to Business Breakfast. The Prime Minister’s participation in the Breakfast reaffirms Government’s commitment to working closely with the private sector to advance shared national priorities.
Speakers and panelists will provide insights on PNG’s economic priorities and strategic imperatives for 2026. Discussions will focus on Investment Outlook 2026 which will examine key sectors and opportunities to drive sustainable economic growth; Partnerships Outlook 2026, which will explore strategic collaborations across public, private, and development sectors; and the 2026 Action Items, which will translate discussions into clear, actionable priorities, further elaborated by the Executive Director of the Business Council PNG. The engagement will bring together senior government officials, business executives, investors, development partners, and thought leaders to foster alignment, collaboration, and action.
The aim is clear: by harmonizing investments, partnerships, and national priorities, PGK 1 will drive sustainable growth, strengthen economic resilience, and deliver shared prosperity for Papua New Guinea.
