G2B Consultative Forum
Overview
The Government–Business Consultative Forum (G2BCF) is a formal engagement platform jointly established by the Business Council of Papua New Guinea (BCPNG) and the Department of the Prime Minister & National Executive Council (PM&NEC). It provides a structured mechanism for dialogue between Government, business leaders, and industry associations on priority economic and business issues.
- Aligns government policy interventions with private sector realities
- Enables open exchange to identify challenges, propose solutions, and support effective policy implementation
- Co-chaired by the Chief Secretary to Government and the President of BCPNG, reflecting shared ownership
- Supported by Taskforces and Technical Working Groups (TWGs) that develop evidence-based recommendations and Technical Position Papers (TPPs)
- Strengthens trust, coordination, and practical collaboration between Government and business

Taskforces
Taskforces Meetings are senior-level coordination platforms established under the Government–Business Consultative Forum (G2B CF) to provide strategic oversight and guidance on priority national and economic reform areas.
The G2BCF operates through three (3) core Taskforces:
Economic Taskforce
The Economic Taskforce focuses on cross-cutting economic and policy issues affecting growth, investment, and the overall business environment. It provides strategic direction on economic reform priorities and supports alignment between Government and the private sector.

MTDP IV Taskforce
The MTDP IV Taskforce supports coordination and monitoring of initiatives aligned with the Medium Term Development Plan IV. It provides a platform for Government and business leaders to track progress, address implementation challenges, and align private sector engagement with national development priorities.

Business Protection Taskforce
The Business Protection Taskforce focuses on issues related to safeguarding legitimate business activity, improving compliance, and addressing practices that undermine fair competition. It supports dialogue on regulatory effectiveness, enforcement, and protection of lawful business operations.
