The Business Council of Papua New Guinea recently hosted the Praivet Gavamani Konekt 3 (PGK 3) at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby from 29–30 October 2025, under the theme “Justice as a Driver for Growth.” The event continues the Council’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between government and business through its Government to Business 2022–2027 Plan, which focuses on four key pillars: Meritocracy, Digital Government, Deregulation, and Geopolitics.

This year’s PGK 3 opened with the 2nd Chief Justice’s Business Breakfast, a high-level dialogue that brought together leaders from the judiciary, business community, and international partners to discuss judicial reform, business integrity, and law and order. Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika delivered the keynote address, joined by EU Ambassador Erika Hasznos and UNDP Resident Representative Nicholas Booth, who underscored the importance of international cooperation in promoting governance, transparency, and anti-corruption initiatives.

Co-chaired by Kenneth Imako of Allens and Vice-President (International) for the Business Council of PNG, the session explored key reforms including the proposed Court of Appeal, the ICJ Green Bench for environmental justice, and measures addressing land disputes, business regulation, and anti-violence and anti-corruption efforts aimed at improving the efficiency and integrity of Papua New Guinea’s justice system and business environment.

The Business Council extends its appreciation to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Union, through their PNG Anti-Corruption Project, for their partnership and support in making this year’s PGK 3 possible.
